Here's a video of one of our recent performances with Bolton Symphony Orchestra.

BCMCS Choral

BCMCS Choral has been an integral part of BCMCS since its formation in 1973. We have built up an excellent reputation in Bolton for our performances of many classic choral works.

These include Beethoven`s Missa Solemnis, Elgar`s Dream of Gerontius, Handel`s Messiah, Verdi`s Requiem and Carmen, performed at the beautiful Victoria Halls in Bolton.

This year in “A Night at the Opera” there were opera overtures played by the Bolton Symphony Orchestra, arias sung by soloists and opera choruses by BCMCS Choral. These included The Anvil Chorus, The Easter Hymn and Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances.

The society has a great working relationship with other choirs, orchestras and musical ensembles, having performed with Bolton Symphony Orchestra, Corus Brass, Bolton Choral Union, Bolton Music Service and The Brixi Singers.

We perform one or two concerts each year usually at Bolton`s Victoria Hall or Bolton Parish Church.

The Musical Director for the choir is appointed on a yearly basis. Carolyn Baxendale has just conducted A Night at the Opera.  Our next performance is scheduled for April 25th 2026.  We will sing John Rutter’s “Gloria” and other Sacred Classics.  Our Musical Director will be Craig Smith.

There are at present around 50 regular choral members and we welcome any new members who would like to join.  Payment of a membership fee is required, the amount of which is decided for each concert.  This covers the cost of insurance, hire of rehearsal premises, and the hire or purchase of musical scores

Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings – 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm at Bolton Parish Church Hall.
